They are made from doilies. I found mine at Goodwill. All three for $1! So this project is very inexpensive! once you have your doilies the only thing else you need is some liquid starch, cling wrap and some bowls. I used three different sized bowls and Sta-Flo liquid starch.
First wrap your bowls in cling wrap.
Dip the doilies in liquid starch and squeeze out any excess.
Drap over your bowls. I used a larger bowl to make more of a plate than a bowl.
Let dry. I dried mine over night.
The next day you will have some lovely lace bowls!
Use to decorate...
change or keys wrangler...
organize jewelry...
or whatever you like!
Happy crafting!
CUTE, CUTE, CUTE! Love this idea!!!

ReplyDeleteThese are so adorable, Stacy! I'm always looking for things to do with my "Grands" that they could then give as parent gifts. I think these would be so cute filled with candies or potpourri for Mother's Day gifts. They just might have to make some for their Nana, too...lol!

Oh how wonderful, I make these too. Yours are lovely. Great find on the doilies for one dollar whoop, Thank you for your bloggy friendship and for participating in the hop. xo
ReplyDeletePerfect. I've attempted this twice now with not much success. The first time I used spray starch, which I guess isn't the right thing because it didn't stiffen much at all. The second time I used a liquid fabric stiffener and it only partially worked. I'm not sure if I didn't use enough or what.
ReplyDeleteYours are beautiful, though!
I found this post via craftastic link party--these are great and I like how easy you make it seem!

Hi. First time here.
ReplyDeleteI'm usually cutting up cereal boxes and wrapping them in paper to use as containers to keep things.
This is a great idea to use doilies instead, pretty too!
If they get dirty can you wash them and do it again?
