tin foil earings

I have a very inexpensive earring tutorial today. Earrings made out of tin foil! The other day I had some tinfoil and kept wadding it up into a tight ball and I thought it was an awesome texture..... and thought.... how can I use this?? The texture and shine reminded me of jewelry, so, we have tin foil earrings!!

What you need...

2 squares of 4x4 inches of tin foil

2 squares of 2x2 inches of tin foil

super strength glue

2 lengths of chain about 2.25 inches long

earring studs

What you do...

Take one 4x4 piece of tin foil and slightly crinkle it {this helps start to create texture}

Put a dab of glue in the center

Place one chain in the center into the glue

Keeping the end of the chain in the middle, start to form a ball around the chain. Only keep the tin foil at the end of the chain. You will have something that looks like this...

Repeat so you will have two.

Next, take the 2x2 squares of tin foil and repeat the process on the other end of the chain.

Glue posts to the small tin foil ball.

Let the glue dry before wearing.

Happy creating!

  2. Hi Stacy. What a great idea!! They look so….expensive!! :-)

Question, I have used that E6000 glue when making purses and I can not seem to get the smell to go away. :-(

    Any suggestions??

    Thank you!

    1. Hmmm... I haven't had problems with the smell. I also make purses that require glue and I use Gutermann HT2 glue which has a strong smell as well but the scent lessens with time.
      Thanks for stopping by!

  3. The only thing I like better than these earrings, made out of tin foil, are the Mama and Baby Turtles that one of my son's friends made me.
