easy drawstring bags

I posted this post this past weekend about drawstring bags I made to use as gift wrapping and toy storage. I have made a lot of drawstring bags in the past. I like to have them with finished edges and sometimes a lining just to have a nice finished project and to have them strong and last long.
I know there are a lot of tutorials on drawstring bags out there. I am going to share with you one way that I made them. It is very simple! Fully lined. No edges showing.

{what you need}
4 pieces of fabric the same size. Pick your size to fit your needs.
                2 outside fabric
                2 lining fabric
Coordinating thread
Coordinating ribbon or string
Sewing tools

{what you do}
Take one piece of outer fabric and one lining fabric and pin right sides together. Sew on all 4 sides leaving a 2 inch opening on the bottom side. Do the same for the other 2 pieces.

Turn, push out corners, press.

Pin your two pieces together with outer fabric together.

Beginning 2 inches down from the top start sewing close along the edge. Sew on 3 sides leaving the top open. Stop sewing 2 inches before the edge. {See diagram below}

Turn.

Fold over the top an inch and pin.
Top stitch. Sew both sides. I pin one and sew one side first then pin and sew the other.

Done with the sewing!
Add a string or ribbon.

Store whatever you want in your bag. Great for toys, puzzles, games, accessories, great for organizing travel items and purse items. And you can make them any size to fit your needs so...
Start sewing!
