Christmas crafting with the kids

Hello everyone! Crafting with the kids is something I do daily with the kids at work. I love seeing kids creating art! In the past few weeks we have been doing a lot of Christmas decorations.
Popsicle stick snowmen and trees…

And more popsicle stick snowmen….

align sticks

I had the kids just paint the bottom 3/4th of the sticks white

paint one stick black and glue to the white painted ones. let dry. i glued a scrap piece of cardboard to the back of the sticks to hold it all together and added some string to hang it from.

add a face!

Christmas watercolors…

I used glue colored with black paint and drew a Christmas scene then let it dry. The kids used watercolor over it. I liked this because you can make your own pictures (for holidays or names) or trace pictures (use your favorite coloring book!) for watercolor painting.

Next time I will try black puffy paint to make a design. The glue is an inexpensive way to do this but didn’t create much relief to separate the paint colors the way puffy paint would.

Stay tuned for more kids art!
